Welcome to our "Little Readers" programme, the perfect first step into the magical world of books! Our goal is to make learning to read a joyful and confidence-building experience over this exciting one-month journey. Through a carefully balanced mix of structured phonics, interactive games, and captivating stories, we help your child unlock the code of reading.
Each week builds on the last, creating a progressive and exciting learning adventure
We master the basic sounds of the alphabet through songs, actions, and crafts. We learn to hear and identify the first and last sounds in words.
We start putting sounds together! Using letter tiles and games, we learn to blend sounds to read CVC words like 'cat', 'dog', and 'sun'.
We tackle high-frequency 'tricky words' (like 'the', 'said', 'was') and start reading our first short sentences with confidence.
We put it all together! We read age-appropriate storybooks with support, answer simple questions, and celebrate our reading success with a 'Reader's Theatre' performance for parents.
