The "Growing Readers" programme is designed to take your child's reading to the next level over this one-month intensive. Moving from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," we focus on building fluency, deepening comprehension, and developing the vocabulary needed for academic success. Our programme is a dynamic mix of guided reading, exciting book clubs, and creative writing exercises. We empower students to not just understand what they read, but to discuss it, question it, and respond to it with their own ideas.
Each week builds on the last, creating a progressive and exciting learning adventure
We practice reading aloud with proper pacing and emotion. We move from robot-reading to reading that sounds like talking, using plays and poetry.
We learn to visualize, question, and make predictions while reading. We dive deep into understanding 'what' we read and 'why' it matters.
We build academic vocabulary and learn to identify the main idea and key details. Students will write their own clear and concise summaries.
We apply all our skills in a group novel study. Students participate in book club discussions and complete a final writing project (e.g., a book review or creative story).
